The Strobel Difference
Strobel Custom Builders is a family-owned-and-operated custom home building company. Created in 2014 by father and son Pete & Bryan Strobel, our goal is to serve the greater Austin Metro and surrounding Hill Country areas. Also a husband and wife team, Bryan and McKena work together, with vastly different skillsets, to balance daily operations perfectly.
With well over 40 years of construction experience between them, Pete & Bryan have earned Strobel Custom Builders a solid reputation for excellent quality, cost efficiency, & conscientious construction, and continue to provide outstanding personal service for each of our clients.
As native locals to the Hill Country, we love getting to build homes in the places we grew up. This is a diverse place in terms of types and sizes of homes. We build on the lake, in the country, or on a city lot, and they’re all within a half hour drive. Because of this, we never end up building the same home twice, which keeps things interesting & fresh, and always makes it fun!

Bryan Strobel

Bryan Strobel
Bryan is a Certified Graduate Builder and a second generation home builder who grew up working on his dad’s job-sites as a summer job. Bryan attended Dripping Springs High School and graduated with High Honors from Texas State University, with a degree in Finance. Post-graduation, he worked in the oilfield as a Construction Manager building out offshore oil rigs in places such as the Gulf Coast, South Korea, and Dubai. After so much traveling, Bryan began to miss the Hill Country and decided to move back home to join the family business with his dad and start Strobel Custom Homes. Bryan is busy chasing around four kiddos, who he raises with his high school sweetheart, McKena.In Loving Memory
Pete Strobel
Pete started his home building career in Texas in 1983, owning his own successful custom home building company in the Austin area, until he joined forces with Bryan to start Strobel Custom Homes. Pete held national designations as a Graduate Master Builder, Green Building Professional, Certified Graduate Builder, and was named one of Austin’s “Top 25 Home Builders” by the Austin Business Journal.
Pete was married to his wife Christy for over 35 years. Together, they have three children and nine grand-babies. Pete passed away on December 16th, 2021, after a long & hard 9-year battle with ALS. Bryan continues the Strobel legacy in honor of his father.

McKena Strobel
McKena, Mama to four kiddos, is the head of office operations. She is a Dripping Springs native and a graduate from Texas State University, with a degree in Dietetics and minor in Business Administration.
Before making the transition to working full-time at Strobel in 2019, McKena was an Elementary school teacher. Her skills include, but are not limited to, Chaos Coordination, Magician of Multitasking, and Persistent Optimism.
Scott
Scott, born and raised in New England, has over 25 years of residential and custom carpentry experience. Working hands on and managing home building projects throughout each stage of completion has given him experience that is unmatched. He has a passion for all things woodworking and attention to detail in custom design projects.
Scott, his wife of over 15 years Brettan, and their two teenagers relocated to Texas in 2022. When he isn’t working on Strobel Custom Home projects, you can find him attending his kids’ many activities, or building custom furniture for his wife.

A Dripping Springs native who grew up remodeling houses with my dad all over Dripping Springs and the Austin area. After college I followed my high school sweetheart to Prague, Czechia where we spent many years guiding tours and teaching English. As our family grew so did our desire to be close to our roots, so we came back home. I have two young daughters and like to spend my free time playing basketball and enjoying these hill country waterways.
This was our 5th major building project (2 new builds and 3 remodels) with the Strobel family, and they have never disappointed. Bryan and his staff are continuing Pete's great legacy. Extremely honest, courteous and attentive. Another great experience.
